option to toggle off artificial features
Such as wind direction, sliders under cranks, etc. To increase realism and immersion. Wind direction could be read from an instrument panel or water movement.
Compass by Helm
It would be great to have a compass by the Helm to see the direction of the boat when steering. You can't see the map from there. Perhaps you could make the arrow icon bigger on the map so you could see it.
Add hands for grabbing the controls
For increased immersion. Could also have some minor items on the boat to be grabbed as well like a map or something.
Wind direction clues
I know you can always look up at the blue arrow to see which way the wind is blowing, but environmental clues are both more fun and more realistic. I'd love to see the wave-pattern on the water indicate the wind direction (fetch) perhaps with small white-caps. Maybe smoke rising from nearby islands and drifting with the wind and clouds moving according to the wind. Birds typically fly either into the wind or with the wind, but rarely across it. I'm not sure what other wind-clues would be good.
Increase maximum number of connected players
It seems that the maximum number of players on a boat is 3. More than that would be nice, even if it got a bit crowded it'd be great to have a party boat.
Small boats on Big Breeze Boat
It's a little contradiction with the name of the game, but having small boats like in VR Regatta would be really nice on the Quest, with its wireless setup. Having to use the teleport breaks inmersion a lot. Big boats would be nice for coop
please add the boat ropes along the balm, as we just see the empty pulleys for the moment
In concurrence with more dynamic weather option, having the possibility of then adjusting your main / jib would be awesome in the future. Right now on the Quest 2 it is a fun experience and allows to feel like your spending a bit of time on a water like environnement, but it is a little too "arcady" and feels a little like driving. Point towards a heading, adjust a little your sheets and then just wait til the next tack. With dynamic weather / wind direction and strength change you would have to be more on the lookout and adjust things more, improving immersion. Same with using the physics of MarineVerse Cup that feel better than the ones currently in BBB (behavior of the oat and the finesse of the sail adjustments) Overall, the game is a great fun basis that could become an amazing VR experience for learning and improving and getting a taste of cruising.
Weather, wind and where am i
Amazingly realistic so far. Changeable weather from fine to storm and subsequent wave heights. How about a radio call with a weather alert. Could use some secondary tails on the stays to show wind direction if possible. Maybe have a wind speed indicator to? Also 🙂 would it be possible to list further and maybe even capsize if you go too far ? A map of the area or sea chart showing depths. Could have reefs or sand banks to navigate. I know that's asking for a lot but would really increase the immersion. Thanks
